Book
Fest was held on the 8th of March 2005. Although not much
trading was done, that was not the main purpose. The main purpose
was to strengthen the ties between senior international students with
the juniors, and Book Fest certainly made that happened.

Pictures
from our Zone 3 event last Saturday are up for viewing! A lot of people
were lost on the day, and couldn't find the Zone 3 grounds, so some
people missed out on one game. Quite a number of people showed up,
approximately 30 people, to make up the three teams - orange, red
and green.
There were more laughing than there
was shooting, as many more girls showed up than guys. By lunch time,
everyone was sweaty and hungry, but really happy and having lots of
fun! (Not particurlarly sure about the results though! I didn't know
how to read the results sheet :P) - Jer Kie

26 April 2003
Today was SO much FUN!!!
All I gotta say is, for the people who didn't come, you missed out
on one of the most exciting volleyball matches in the whole entire
world! Of course I'm exaggerating, but anyways, today was another
fun day to mix with the other universities. Only 4 universities turned
up, ECU pulled out.. hmmm I wonder why?
After playing one game, the rain interrupted us, and we were all trying
to run to shelter. After that the "sun" came back out and
we were able to continue the tournament. UWA ended up finishing 3rd!
What an achievement!!! Notre Dame took the title, with Murdoch the
runner ups.
I would just like to point out that we most probably would have come
first place, if it weren't for that old (I'm sure he's probably really
delightful) man who just kept blowing out those nursery rhymes on
his bagpipe! I think that was the highlight of the day. There's a
photo of him amongst all the other pictures taken on that day. To
all our talented players, Wen Yew (our captain), Mike, Sharon, Fel,
Shariff, Jean-Michel, Chrissie and Steven, thankyou for coming and
representing our university! Thankyou to our referees, the organisers
and thanks to our Curtin substitutes :)
Make sure you check out the photos!
There are HEAPS... a great time waster... heheh :)
22 April 2003
Catamaran Sailing at South Perth foreshore.
We will be meeting at Currie Hall at 10am and be back there at 4pm.
If you've never been before, this is your perfect chance to experience
how much FUN it can trully be, AND you get to sail with the pretty
city as your scenery. On this Thursday, 24 April, we are organising
another fun-filled event to Lake Leschenaultia which is up in the
Mundaring Hills. Walking, swimming and canoeing are one of the many
activities planned for the day. Again transport and food has been
organised, and all you have to do is turn up at Currie Hall at 10
am, and pay a small expense of $5 per person. We will take you back
by 4pm.
20 April 2003
What a beautiful day (minus the brief
shower) for a soccer tournament... too bad TEAM UWA didn't make it
to the finals to defend our title, but next year will be a totally
different story. Confusion was evident between universities, as our
team and one other were the only mixed team in a mixed soccer tournament!
Anyway, in the end, we were the "best" team out there, with
the most cheering and enthusiasm ever!
The scores were :
UWA vs Curtin A, 5 - 0
UWA vs Murdoch A, 1 - 3
UWA vs ECU Norway, 1 - 4
In the end, ECU Norway won the title
(they were the team with the black and white striped jersey). From
a girl's point of view, they were very scary to play against, or maybe
its normal for boys to play rough. :p
A special thankyou must be said to Kiara (our delightful captain),
Maryam, Des, Felicia, Shawn, Wen Jun, Sharon, Mike, Yves, Andrew,
Jason, Matt, Will, Wen Yew, Chrissie, Steven, Jer Kie and Victor.
Pictures
taken on the day are here.
18 March 2003
